Bluetribe... the Latest Bluetooth 2.1 Headphone From Japan

I'm not sure this products is really comes from Japan, however, Sigma-Apo, a Japanese based company, released the Bluetribe, a new Bluetooth 2.1 headphone, sold with two different earpads (two different shapes)...

That's pretty much it.

How the heck do you make 2.1 headphones? 2.1 implies stereo channels plus a discrete LFE (subwoofer) channel.

First, presumably these headphones use the normal A2DP bluetooth profile, in which case they will only be able to receive stereo (2.0) or mono (1.0) sound. 2.1 sound has three discrete channels, so this won't be possible.

Second, if the term "2.1" refers to speaker configuration rather than discrete audio channels, it still does not make sense. Do they have ONE subwoofer speaker? Really? On the left ear or what? :p

Long story short, it is evident that 2.1 is just a marketing gimmick in this instance.

Judging by specifications, they should sound nice, but it would be good to read a review is someone has those Bluetribe.

Could these be the headphones that finally come close to the audio quality of a standard wired headset?

my pioneer wireless headphones does the job with massive bass.

i just hate it when i need to remove the batteries and put it in the charge rack/base signal transmitter combo.

all gadgets should have rechargeable batteries and just plug & charge, just like the ps3 dual shock 3.

I'm pretty sure the 2.1 refers to BLuetooth version not the speaker configuration.

I bought a set a few weeks ago. Nice headset, comfortable, doesn't fall off my smallish head.

But. No range in my house, can't leave the computer desk or it gets too noisy, And noisy anyways.. not good for music. (Now, need to contact tech support and see if they can help). Needs to be re-started every time you turn on the computer, or when there's an error.

So far, a PITA. But it looks very cool.
