Intel's controllers are delayed but that doesn't mean others have to wait.

However because Intels USB controllers are considered the defacto standard the industry will not push USB3 until Intel chipsets with USB3 built in launch on the market.

Also universal drivers will not be in place either so when connecting it up you would have to provide a third party driver until operating system include USB3 support and that wont happen until well after Intel has committed to USB3 chipsets.

USB3 is already available via Intel P55 chipset based motherboards. Good example is Gigabyte.

The Linux operating system has support built in for USB 3.0 devices meeting the standard. This was implemented in the 2.6.31 kernel...

Currently the 2.6.32RC is almost ready for testing. You can use these devices and test them for publication purposes to verify they meet the USB 3.0 standard...

This is something any student, reviewer can accomplish you do not need to wait for a Win7 driver...

Someone is going to make a pile of money stuffing USB 3.0 into WinXP and Vista 90% of Microsofts user base...

Has anyone seen the any of the Toshiba's china licensed HD-DVD products, maybe a external unit USB 3.0 in testing?
