HDR-FX7 : Sony HDR-FX7, the HD Pro camera

The FX1 is dead… Long live the FX7! We received a 6 pages fax from Sony this morning, announcing the much anticipated FX7 -- in fact the VX2100 HD -- replacing the FX1. What can we say about it? Well, according to Sony, the FX7 is 40% more efficient than the FX1, while being 25% smaller (145x166x322mm with a weight of 1.4kg for 1688cc vs. 2880cc for the FX1). This camera is still a 1080i (HDV 1440x1080) with a 3 Clear Bit CMOS sensor and a 20x optical zoom. It has HDMI, FireWire, D3 and D1 for connectors. The camera will be available in Japan on November 11th at a price of about 2 530 Euros.
