SEGA Private Show 2008 Summer

We just got back from the SEGA Private Show 2008 Summer where we were introduced to several new arcade machines.

What’s new?

First of all, a new racing game was introduced, R-Tuned Ultimate Street Racing. Nothing exceptional, you can drift a little, but it remains an arcade game. If you drive off the road, the game returns you to it automatically. Four can play simultaneously, and cards can be purchased to your progression. When you earn new car, you can race with it next time you play.

There's no ranking system to compare your results with other players. Too bad!

The second game was the Galileo Factory, a medal game that supports two players. It features a large criss-crossed roller coaster like structure in the center. This game may cause wrist-tendonitis, a crank is turned to put your coins in the game.

Then we had the House of the Dead EX game…. Really boring! It’s a light-gun shooter game that features gun and a pedal …

At the start we thought it was similar to Time Crisis like where you use the pedal to hide yourself and leave your hideout and shoot… But this game only allows you to use gun alone, or only with the pedal Never both at the same time. House of the Dead EX features several little challenges, there’s no real story mode.

Other games seen were the Black Jack Nailed Ace game that can be played with five players, the Jackpot game “Where is Waldo?”, UFO Catcher 8, a large-scale dual crane machine and another medal game, and the Monopoly Medal 2nd Edition.
