TA-DA5400ES : Sony Announces the Release Date and Price for Their Latest AV Amplifier, the TA-DA5400ES

Just after being awarded at the European Imaging and Sound Association 2008 (EISA), Sony announced the release date and prices of their latest AV amplifier ES Line-up for Japan.

The TA-DA54000ES, a 7.1 Home Theater Receiver, combines 1080/24p support with a new audio codec to deliver outstanding audio/video performance for the HD era. It features HDMI interface, full Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio decoding, a second zone GUI, a proprietary auto setup/room correction regime and no further than seven channels.



The DA5400ES provides a frequency response of 10Hz-100kHz (±3dB, @ 8Ω), signal noise ratio of 96dB, a THD of 0.009%, an output power of 7x 120Watts (840W Total Output Power). It is equipped with HDMI active intelligence (6 Input / 2 output), an IC processor developed by Faroudja, Xross Media Bar Inspired Graphic User Interface. It also upscales images to 1080p, and supports the latest high-fidelity audio formats, including Dolby® TrueHD and dts® HD Master Audio.

It will be available in Japan on November 20th for 1635€.

Sony also announced the release date for the TA-DA3400ES and STR-DG820: November 20th for respectively 850€ and 525€.

The TA-DA3400ES provides a frequency response of 10Hz-100kHz (±3dB, @ 8Ω), signal noise ratio of 96dB, a THD of 0.009%, an output power of 7x 100Watts (700W Total Output Power), features 4 HDMI1.3 Input / 1 HDMI1.3 output, the IC processor developed by Faroudja, Xross Media Bar Inspired Graphic User Interface…

The STR-DG820 provides an output power of 7x85W, provides a frequency response of 10Hz-100kHz (±3dB, @ 8Ω), signal noise ratio of 96dB, a THD of 0.009%. It features the BRAVIA Sync technology, HDMI “Active Intelligence” (4 inputs/1Outputs), Digital Media Port and decodes the latest audio formats from Dolby® Labs and DTS®

Sony will also launch their SACD player, the SCD-XA5400ES featuring HDMI output, a D/A converter, and provides a frequency range of 2Hz-100kHz, a frequency response of 2Hz-50kHz for SACD part, and provides a frequency response of 2Hz-20kHz for CD.
