SynMaster LapFit, Two New LCDs for Your Laptop

Good Lord! And I thought I was cool with my 8” USB Additional LCD from Century… If 8” isn't enough and you'd like to use your notebook, netbook or whatever portable PC you have as a primary working device, you'll be VERY pleased to learn Samsung announced this Sunday a new type of LCD monitor, the LapFit Series.

Available in 19" and 22” these additional LCD monitors are made to be used with a portable computers, and as you can see will in most cases be at the same level as your computer. Like the Century LCD, these screens need a USB port to be connected to a PC (but require additional power to be used) .

The LapFit LD190G and LapFit LD220G both have a contrast ratio of 20000:1, a 1360x768 resolution, a USB hub.

If only they would release cheap wuxga touchscreens i would definitely buy 1.
my budget is only 15000 to 38000 yen.
that touchscreen lcd would also throw away my dreams of buying an xbox 360.

hm...I don't know, i'm already complaining about carrying a 4lb laptop....even if i just leave it in place or use it with my desktop, it just feels like something missing. I guess i still like the good old mouse and keyboard.

Wish the price on these would drop fast. As much as i want one, it's more toy than necessary.

I have yet to find touch screens useful. Maybe if it was cheaper. Good old mouse and keyboard is the best.

These aren't touchscreens; just USB external monitors, using what Samsung calls Ubisync (http://www.engadget.com/tag/UbiSync/)

Checked one out in a store here a couple of days ago, and it doesn't look very impressive - screen can't run 3D, and requires a minimum dual-core 2Ghz processor to run - which I'm betting means the USB driver is a resource hog.
