What, in your mind, constitutes "completely redesigned"? The Dp2 is almost identical to the DP1, except for the lens.

You do not achieve speed improvement and other nice little stuff that has the 2 by simple magic... you have to redesign, rework and fine tune something... Also "Almost" technical specs does not mean same product... after all a 2008 Nissan GT-R and 2009 Nissan GT-R have "almost" the same specs, but are technically different in many points... (Sorry for this example)
