Gigabyte T1028M, Your Atom Tablet PC?

The T1028M is Gigabyte's first ATOM powered “TabletPC.” Thanks to its convertible design and 10.1” touchscreen you use it like a tablet without (unfortunately) Microsoft Tablet Input (only offered with XP Home), but I am sure that once you install 7 on this baby, MS Tablet Input will be available.

Specs are otherwise pretty common, with an Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, 160GB, WiFi N and will be released in Japan this month.

I guess the price wasn't available. However, being that this is tablet PC, I wonder how much more expensive it'll be when compared to other netbooks with similar specs.

Well, the T1028M is really not the first TabletPC. I have the M912 that is available since a few month already...

Nice design, and sleek colors, perfect for Japanese businessmen and others alike.

I wish the specs were a bit higher though, 1GB of RAM seems a bit too little for an Atom PC that has touchscreen capabilities. If you run many programs at once, it may lag substantially.

The 160GB of storage is also nice, but they could bump it up to 250GB. More storage is always a nice thing for an Atom Laptop marketed for people in business.

Cheers!
