Coolpix S640 : Nikon to Release Coolpix S570, S640 and S70 Point & Shoot Cameras?

Besides the rumor regarding the Nikon’s Coolpix S1000pj, a Digital Camera-Projector Combo, it seems the Japanese manufacturer plans to launch the Coolpix S640, S570, S70…

According to Nikon Rumors, the Coolpix S640 should be equipped with a 28mm wide angle lens, 5x optical zoom, an ultra-fast autofocus system, a 2.7-inch Clear Color Display, an integrated Quick Retouch functions (Balance, Saturation…) and will provide a resolution of 12.2Mpix. Available in three different flavors, the S640 can be ready to shoot in 0.7 seconds, and provides an ISO range going up to 6400.

Price: $499, or €350.



The S70 comes with a 3.5-inch Clear Color OLED Touch Screen that integrates intuitive fingertip shooting control… Thanks to this screen, the user will be able to enjoy vivid color reproduction, sharp contrast, absence of after-images, as well as different function like playback option, brightness control (exposure), scene effect adjustment. TH S70 is also equipped with a Touch Shutter.
Regarding other specs, our S70 features a 12.1Mpix sensor, with a 28-140mm Nikkor Lens (5x Optical zoom), and an ISO speed going up to 6400.

Price: $599 or €419.



The S570 is the S560’s successor, and will combine a 5x Zoom-Nikkor lens with a resolution of 12Mpix. Like the S1000pj, the S570 features the Smart Portrait System including a Face-priority AF. This function will be able to recognize up to 12 faces.
Lastly, this S570 will be offered in four different colors (Silver, Black, Red and Pink), provide a maximum ISO Sensitivity of 3200, and cost $349 (€245)
