Once again, the creative CE industry is taking the lead to eliminate the Set Top Box and embed the functions within the TV. By adding a DVR - especially the iVDR (a product which has been long in development and short on commercialization) Hitachi is showing the power of combining their TV and storage technologies into one product.

Further developments as this will continue to give consumers more choice while reducing the clutter of the entertainment room.
