Amusement Machine Show 2009

Last Thursday and Friday the Amusement Machine Show 2009 was held at Makuhari Messe, … And to be honest if 2008 was not that great, 2009 was… way worse.

Here's what we had the chance to play with and see.

Banpresto
Banpresto doesn't per se propose an “Amusement Machine” but rather gifts that are sometimes given to winners who enjoy these machines. Among the cool prizes were the latest Dragon Ball goodies, with an amazing freeze spaceship, as well as these two amazing pans for pancakes that I'd love to own! Other things included cute Mario Mario and Luidgi figures and other stuff from the Super Mario Wolrd.

Banpresto also displayed their latest One Piece figures… Wonderful!

Taito
Taito's biggest thing was the famous, well rather disgusting “Unko-Chan” (Unko = Shit), I personally love the Unko-Chan slippers for bother kids and adults.

On another level Taito proposed gorgeous Yamato spaceship models and watches.

As far as the amusement machine stuff is concerned, Taito introduced Cyber Driver, an FPS that takes place in a Japanese school where you kill friends and other people around you with a wide selection of weapons like a katana and chainsaw.

Sega
Sega had a lot of nice stuff as well, like these beautiful Evangelion statues, not for sale, however, they also had two “Lamu-Chan” pet bottle cap covers, Okuto No Ken “Power Meters”.

On the “Amusement Machine” side Sega had some fun stuff for kids including some nice bus simulators, JewelPets card games (love the old guy playing with little girls stuff), a huge and awesome Tetris game, the latest Virtua Fighter and Typhoon, a virtual rollercoaster simulator…

Namco Bandai & Capcom
Bandai had a lovely tank game simulator, TANK TANK TANK. Loved the multiplayer cute tank stuff where you have to either shoot each other to death or to cooperate to fight a giant Godzilla like monster.

Other fun stuff was the Mario Party Corocoro Catcther where you catch as much as money as possible to win a nice little Banpresto gift.
