[TGS09] Uncharted 2: Ignoring It would be a Sacrilege

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves could be the next wonder available for Playstation 3. This new action-adventure video game developed by Naughty Dog is scheduled to be released in October…

After the great success of their first opus, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, we impatiently waited to see a new Nathan Drake adventure … Uncharted 2 takes place a couple of years after the first Uncharted, and revolves around Marco Polo's voyage from China in 1292…

Since its official announcement we knew Uncharted 2 would feature new gameplay mechanics, new climbing mechanics…

This time it's particularly dedicated to Multiplayer Mode (Competitive and Co-Op), and you can take control of a maximum of three characters (Nathan, Sully, and Chloe)…

The first word that comes to mind is "perfect"… Like GT5, the graphics are amazingly detailed with great colors… Decors are also perfect and create the illusion of being part of the game… With the face and clothing detail and distructable settings, visually, Uncharted 2 could be one of Sony's most amazing productions…. Not only beautiful, the game is smooth and not spoiled at all by its perfect graphics… This game looks perfect.

The novelty is its Multiplayer Mode… Yep, Naughty Dog seems to have given it a lot of thought with ten modes in all: One-Man, Co-Op, Death Match… You can also customize your game with several options and save replays….

Yep, everything is perfect… However, our Daimaou doesn't seem so excited… Like Gran Turismo, developers over at Naughty Dog gave the game too much detail… You can't focus on everything… It’s too realistic… It's like not having any depth of field.... According to YO, and a video he linked in the comments, there is a huge features in the setting letting you play with DOF in the Uncharted2... Basically you can manipulate everything for the best looking experience possible... And if you are like Daimaou, you can change the game to offer more DOF like in the cinematic of the game... YEAH ! Daimaou Happy !

However, if you don’t think like Daimaou and you like games with a lot of detail, this game is definitely a MUST have…

Ignoring Uncharted 2 is a sacrilege….

Daimaou:

Uncharted 2 gives you some control of "Depth Of Field", with selectable "Distance to Subject" and "Focal Range".

See this video segment for a very short demo. (This video segment is only 4 seconds long; please watch closely, and press the Play button again to replay.)

http://splicd.com/CG5kwtsDXfE/122/127

In that video segment, you'll notice the DOF, Distance and Range options in the menu at lower left; and you can see the adjusted blur effect on the lights.

(As the voiceover says: "... You can make it look blurry in the foreground or blurry in the background, also you can change the focal distance. ...")

If anyone has a link to a better demo of the game's DOF/distance/range options, please post.
