Sony Vaio L Series: Photos Gallery Update & Quick Hands-on

Besides the all-new Vaio X Series, Sony introducedc a nice all-in-one Desktop PC featuring a nice 24’’ LCD Full HD touchscreen at their press conference.

As a reminder, the L-Series is equipped with a Core 2 Duo processor E7500 (2.93GHz), a 24 inch widescreen (1920x1080), 4GB of RAM, 1TB of HDD, a Nvidia GeForce G210M GPU, Wifi b/g/n, Blu-ray recorder, two TV tuners, Webcam, and Bluetooth…

Nice specs, but I think everyone is more interested in the screen, Sony’s first touchscreen PC, than the overall specs… And it works well! Very responsive, accurate with multi-touch gestures… Thanks to the 24’’ screen, Media Gallery, you can enjoy your pictures and play with them… Really nice, really stylish, I’d love have something like that in my living room…

Of course you can also enjoy your music, and choose the music you want to listen to just by tapping on covers, choose TV programs…

However, like every glossy screen, the L-Series won’t forgive and will probably get some big finger print smudges…

Regarding the price, it's 240,000 Yen, or €1840.

$ony should just sell the touch monitor only, its a nice computer, but I dunno if you can swap the video card or is integrated like the notebooks are.

I second that, I wish they would sell the monitor by itself, although looking at the prices of touch screen monitors, it almost makes sense just to buy their low end model and figure out a way to hook up to a desktop computer.

From what I have heard also touch screen displays have a lot of color artifacts on them, gateway for their new all-in-one touchscreen computer has a disclaimer at the bottom of the page that says these color issues are not defects, LOL. So I wonder if the sony ones will have a different quality to them.
