Exactly, in Germany it's called "Baumkuchen" - the translation is "tree cake" because of the way it's made: A rotating form is slashed again and again with dough - so finally, there are several layers of dough like the rings in a tree.

Not sure if I care for the overall design; maybe it would be slightly better if the colors were red on black, rather than black on red. However, I like that the keypad looks a lot more tactile than a lot of slim or candy bar style phones, and maybe it'd work on flip styles as well. I'd sacrifice a couple of centimeters in phone thickness for it.
