Is there some sort of mental disorder going on with gadget blogs these days? Why can't people write "laptop"? Why does everyone write "lappy" and "Panny" (Panasonic) and "Sammy" (Samsung)???

Is it that hard to just write professionally? I know it's a blog, but is it really too much to ask to drop the sophomoric kiddy slang?
