I noticed that you used a Chinese flag instead of a Taiwansese flag..... though Taiwan's status as an indipendant country itself or a part of China is hotly debated, if you are going to say that it was produced in Taiwan then why use a Chinese flag...?

Simple: Taiwan is China.
They speak Chinese, read Chinese, have family and roots in the mainland and most importantly they behave in a Chinese way. Ever been with a Chinese girl? the only difference with a Taiwanese girl is that she might be a little more openminded on certain private issues.... ![]()
Now, consider this:
The political status of Taiwain is a tool for US interests in the region. Consequently Japanese interests as well. Facing the rise of China as a strong local player, Taiwan becomes an opportunity for the yanks to stay in the game in Asia. Japan is scared the shit out of them so naturally they back up anything the yanks want.
Finally:
Who ever said that the Kuomintang was a nice capitalist pro democratic political party? Back in the days before 1st Oct 49 things were not that nice. At the end of the day, its, though through a combined effort, the communist forces that overwhelmed the Japanese. Most importantly its the communist troops and volunteers that built China out of misery. Nothing is perfect, but somehow, i reckon communism fits better the Chinese psyche, since they revere mostly the family and the community first. Its the same in Taiwan. China is sitting at the UN with a veto right, not Taiwan
and one thing the chinese and those guys in the top levels of the government are good at: patience.
Taiwan is China.
Ask anyone in Beijing.
