3Gbps SATA II HDD

Buffalo is going to release 150 to 500GB SATA II HDD's in Japan that offer a 3Gbps transfer rate. I think I'll upgrade to one of these once I'll really start doing some serious HD video business... the speed and size are just perfect! Everything might be in RAID 1 too.

I currently use a 15k RPM drive. what is the spindle speed of this drive and whats its sustained transfer rate, as 3Gbps is not an accurate assesment of the drives performance.

Maxtor 15k SAS drive which should work with your SATA controller. not bad for 6Gbps which means nothing. STR, latency, RPM is what you should look at when you buy a drive.

but does your computer bus speeds, and other peripherals have enough speed to keep up with the HDD?
