Why do you say this is inspired by the wii-mote? There were many plug-and-play games before the wii that were sensor based, mainly from asia. I remember lik-sang having games like a plug-in sword which was a simple game of slicing things on screen. Going as far back as the SuperNES things like the powerglove all used motion sensing / movement to play. Then you have newer games like Gutiar hero that by moving the guitar up would cause you to 'rock'. Sensor based movement is nothing new or original for games, much less coming from the Wii.
