Sony Shows Off Their Dye-Sublimation Printers

With the release of Sony's DPP-FP90 and FP70 printers, the company is trying to combine the functionality of laser printers with the cost effectiveness of ink printers.

The Sony printers can spit out high-resolution images in just 45 seconds, and sport Sony's Bionz image processing system that can support up to 48M image quality. Each printer comes with a nice screen to quickly view which pictures on your digital camera you would like to print out (3.6-inch LCD for the FP90 and 2.5-inch for the FP70), and the device even lets you touch up the pictures before you send them to print.

The Sony Dye-Sublimation printers look like they may be revolutionizing the landscape of portable printers, and to be honest, this wouldn't be a half-bad development.
