And although we weren't sure what was going on with these slick lappys just three months ago, we have some big news for you: they're now available in North America.

The Gemstone laptops are dubbed the 4710 and the 5920. The latter will feature a 15.4-inch display and an HD DVD drive. Besides that, both laptops will sport a Core 2 Duo processor and a built-in webcam. And if you're a Vista fan, you'll be happy to know that you can get your Windows on with Vista Home Premium.

The 4710 sports a 14.1-inch widescreen, a Core 2 Duo processor and a Dolby-certified sound system. Believe it or not, you can pick a 4710 up for only $599. That said, the 5920 will run you $1,999 just to start.
