Nokia Unveils the Prism

The Nokia 7900 Prism and Nokia 7500 Prism are two unbelievably pretty cell phones. Interestingly enough, both of the handsets use a unique retro 1980s keypad design with a geometric diamond pattern to add the most character in a phone that I've seen in a long time.

The Nokia 7900 Prism is a 3G and quad-band GSM phone offering a glossy piano black body with laser-etched, anodised aluminum on the back. To help make one good looking picture, the phone sports an Organic LED display that allows it to display over 16 million colors.

If you're big into automatically changing screensavers and wallpapers, the Prisms have you covered. According to Nokia, each phone will feature a large gallery of lighting effects for the screen and keypad as well as screensavers and wallpapers that change throughout the day.

Besides its looks, the Prism sports a 2-megapixel camera and the ability to record DVD-quality video along with an FM radio and 1GB of internal memory.

The Nokia 7500 Prism is a more affordable tri-band GSM device with the same look as 7900. To make up for less impressive specs, the 7500 offers swappable accent colors in white, black or red.

The Nokia 7500 Prism features the same camera as the 7900 along with a music player, FM radio and video capture qualities that are equal to the 7900. It also features the same color graphics and light effects as the 7900 above. The 7500 adds MicroSD Card support with an included 512MB card and runs the Opera Mini web browser.

Both the Nokia 7900 Prism and Nokia 7500 Prism -- both SIM-free -- will be released in the third quarter, for about £270 for the 7900 and £140 for the 7500.
