Run Away! The "SS" are back, thanks to Toshiba!

How on earth can a company be THAT ignorant in order to call its flagship notebook the SS Series?(SS = SchutzStaffel); what next ? The Dynabook Gestapo ? Anyway… here you are, a limited SS (dynabook SS RX1/W5A) Dynabook from Toshiba, which is sold only via their online store, which weighs between 768g to 959g; depending on whether you are opting for a 64GB SSD, or a regular HDD.
By default, our "SS" will feature a Core 2 Duo U7600 CPU (1.2Ghz) 2 GB of ram, Bluetooth, Wifi A/B/G and a 12.1" LCD with a WXGA resolution.
Finally, the version available in the online store will not include a DVD burner, but rather a regular HDD of 120GB, and will be sold for around 1690€.

And yes, I am aware that the SS series has been available for several months in Japan; we are just talking here about a new generation of SS.

SS is still used without stigma by Chevrolet, to indicate high-end car models. The abbreviation is for \"Super Sport\" and maybe Toshiba is trying to bank on some of that mindshare.

Coward, Daimaou seems to have a special sensibility to 'SS' and the SchutzStaffeln, as most French people tend to have. It's only natural, in a way... I actually find it quite funny the SS did most harm to other germans, you know?...

In the US, the \"SS\" designation means \"Super Sport\" -- a long used automobile designation for sporty cars. I don\'t know what proportion of Toshiba\'s market is in the U.S., but it has to be significant. Europe may be entirely different.
