SS is still used without stigma by Chevrolet, to indicate high-end car models. The abbreviation is for \"Super Sport\" and maybe Toshiba is trying to bank on some of that mindshare.

Coward, Daimaou seems to have a special sensibility to 'SS' and the SchutzStaffeln, as most French people tend to have. It's only natural, in a way... I actually find it quite funny
the SS did most harm to other germans, you know?...

In the US, the \"SS\" designation means \"Super Sport\" -- a long used automobile designation for sporty cars. I don\'t know what proportion of Toshiba\'s market is in the U.S., but it has to be significant. Europe may be entirely different.
