New memory sticks from Elecom with PASS function

PASS stands for Password Authentication Security System, which is a new security system in which you don't need a password anymore. What you do is set up the USB stick by authorizing in which computers it can work, from there, only the PC's that you accepted will be able to access the data.

The storage capacity goes up to 16GB.

How are they identifying the computers? If by name, it would be easy to setup a domain and computer name to fake the security. An IP address would be easy to fake as well (not to mention most domains are dynamic).
Are they using something like an onboard MAC address or CPU SN number or something? That would make more sense.
