Concept: Nice Musical Mobile Phones Born from a YAMAHA - KDDI Collaboration

Yesterday, the AkihabraNews team went to KDDI's designing studio in Harajuku where some nice concepts were on exhibition.

Introducing a concept born from the collaboration between Yamaha and KDDI. All these devices are a fusion of musical instruments and mobile phones.

"Band in my Pocket" is a mobile phone with five modules, from a bass module to trumpet module.

“Trio in your Hand” features a third interface that lets you to scratch like a DJ with a special pad. According to KDDI's staff, it has also been designed for easier game play.

The stylish “Box to Play”, a cube shaped phone, features speakers and a touch pad for scratching. A camera is found in the middle of the touch pad.

My preferred device, “Sticks in the Air”, allows drum playing. This phone separates into two drum sticks.

“Key to Touch”, when you open this phone you'll find a fingerboard for piano playing.

The last “Strings for Fingers” is a slide phone. You can play guitar with this one!!!

For those who'll be in Tokyo on August 31, KDDI plans on showing these products live!
