Hi folks, the nice team over at Fujitsu invited us to the launch of their new desktop PCs and notebooks.
Globally, all of them are designed for professional use. Regarding specs there's generally nothing new, but there are a couple of things that may interest you.
What was exhibited?
The FMV-ESPRIMO with the D-Series Desktop PC. With this computer there's a choice between several CPUs, from an AMD Sempron Processor (2GHz) to an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor (2.83GHz), as well as 80GB of storage space, 1GB of RAM, and six USB ports.
Something interesting was introduced on these computers, specifically on the FMV-D5270 that supports RAID 1. Equipped with two 2.5-Inch HDDs, Fujitsu designed this computer for 24 hours use. Moreover, because of this data can be easily backed-up.
According to Fujitsu, most computers have an average life of 2 years, while the FMV-D5270 has a span of 5 years. Not bad for enterprise use.
The second interesting thing about this desktop PC is a sensor that detects when a user is in front of it. When no one is present, the screen saver appears or it will log off in two seconds.
Notebooks, tablet PCs, and slate PCs.
The FMV-TB15/B is a slate PC that comes with a 12.1-Inch screen with WXGA resolution (1280x800), an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor (1.40GHz), 1GB of RAM, 80GB of HDD, Bluetooth, and Felica port.
The T-Series, FMV-T8170 and FMV-T8270. These two table PCs come with 12.1’’ and 13.3’’ screens with WXGA resolution. Both feature 1GB of RAM and 80GB of HDD. The FMV-8170 is also equipped with Bluetooth and an optional battery pack providing a battery life span of 16 hours.
