Next Friday in Japan Century will release their ultimate HDD stage rack, the Double Rack Duplicator… Simply put this is an average
HDD Dual Stage Rack, where you can plug two different SATA HDDs to your PC (eSATA or USB 2.0), but this time with an extremely useful duplication feature… Now you can literally clone one HDD to another at the push of a button.
Let’s imagine you want to upgrade your PC or notebook HDD, you can always use software like Acronis, but this takes time and you're never sure if the image restore nicely on your new HDD. Thanks to the Double Rack Duplicator you can do the same thing without the running software without EVEN need to switching your PC on. Just plug your original HDD in slot 1, plug the new one in the slot 2 (2.5” or 3.5”) and voila, you're done.
The Double Rack Duplicator can even format your HDD once this process done (four different erasing modes). If you're interested you can check this baby out at
GeekStuff4U.com was allowed to sell this product before its official launch date!
Due to NDA weren't allowed to talk about this product until today, but for a month now we've enjoyed playing with it and are pretty happy with it. You can also find below in the gallery the very first prototype… Interesting to see how companies are building their prototypes (the prototype of the Double Rack Duplicator Motherboard was fitted in the body with wooden pieces, amazingly low tech!)
