Let’s Visit Tokyo Kitanomaru Koen

Finally I made it! Here's the second park around the Imperial Palace and close to Kokyo Gaien… Kitanomaru Koen… What’s special about it? Like may parks in Japan Kitanomaru is a piece of heaven in the heart of Tokyo surrounded by buildings. Once you are inside the park you won’t see many of them (buildings) or hear any traffic at all. Yep, a nice little place to rest…

Kitanomaru also hides a concert hall, and to my surprise, yesterday some Japanese idols has a concert… I was surprise to see how people queued up so early during yesterday’s hot and very humid day to attend it… I really wanted to shoot more video of the people waiting in line but I was asked to stop… If I had to describe most (but not all) of them it would be… everything you'd think of 25 to 35 year old unmarried men addicted to 16 to 18 year old Japanese idols… 100% Otaku.

I've always been confused about photography and video recording in Japan. The laws dealing with it are unlike any other laws in the world. Does it happen often that you are asked to be stopped from shooting in a public place? In many countries it is actually illegal for people to prevent you from shooting video in a public place, such as of the line in the park? Yet, in Japan, it seems to be illegal to shoot video in public places many times. I will be heading to Japan soon and plan to do some photography, so I'm wondering if you may please enlighten me about this situation!

sometimes I find it really scary that a 35 year old man loves a 16 year old idol O_o.

Anyway thank you very much for a great video again

There was an AKB48 (quite popoluar all-girl-idol-group) concert at Budokan, probably You see the fans are waiting for the concert entry.

Note: There are several 23+ years old members of this idol group, so this
"everything you must think of when a 25 to 35 years old unmarried man addicted to a 16 to 18 years old Japanese idol… 100% Otaku" is not quite right, (and they have lot of female fans as well)

Arrow> For another website we have, NihonCar, we have received Official letter from lawyers and even "Bills" to pays since in the blurry background there was a building... Shooting video on some mountains roads can also cost you around 30 to 50 000 Yen per days...

I've been photographing Japan for ten years, and video for more than three years. No one has ever demanded payment or asked me not to photograph something. The Japanese do it everywhere.
