[TGS09]Dragon Ball Raging Blast: The Ultime Kamehameha?

Dragon Ball Raging Blast, the latest Namco Bandai game was also here at the Tokyo Game Show… As a huge fan of this immortal series, we spent a lot og time with this game that will be available on XBOX 360 and Playstation 3…

This new baby allows you to control eight characters at the start, from Goku to Freezer… Eventually you should be able to get up to 70 characters… Of course, like its predecessors (Dragon Ball Tenkaichi), Raging Blast takes place in a 3D environment. A 3D environment that could disappoint some when the first screenshots are released… Indeed, we expected more from the new generation of gaming consoles…

When we got it hands-on, our first impression was really good… Nothing worse than previous versions… The environment is still destructible, movements are smooth, and graphics are much better than we thought (compared to first release screenshots)… Yep, we sensed a major improvement between the PS2 and next generation consoles… Colors are deeper, more vivid, and more detailed. Buildings also keep good proportions, clouds, grass, lava flows… This new opus will give you the impression of being in the the anime…

Regarding game play, everything has changed… You’ll have to learn the meaning of patience, but playing Dragon Ball Raging Blast is pure pleasure…

Two Player Mode didn’t get much improvement… It’s still the same as its predecessors… It's still in development…

First impressions were really interesting… An Online Mode that is really hopeful, a Story Mode that includes some training sessions, new story, new movements, new attacks, different gaming modes….

We'll just have to wait for November 13th 2009 in Europe….

PS: Thanks to the Xbox and Playstation booths for letting us take pictures(

The building destruction mechanism seems off. How come 1 fireball sent the building flying in thousand pieces?
