Akiba, in full screen and without ads!

It seems that a number of you like the old Akiba because it allowed you to have everything on one page without ads... well, the past is the past, and we're not going back, but in order to try to please everyone (not an easy task), we have looked into solutions for the "old Akiba"-lovers. The solution for you oldtimers is to use our RSS feed. It used to be limited to 180 chars and no pictures, but all those limitations have been lifted (ok, it's not perfect, but it's a good solution nevertheless), so every morning (or evening or whatever) you'll be able to enjoy Akiba like before.

Needless to say that you'll have to install a software to read all that, and we quickly wrote one and you can buy it for 6000 EUR before taxes (ha, gotcha!). No, really any RSS compatible software can give you your daily Akiba fix on one page, like OMEA Reader for PC users (the software I personally use... and it's free too), and for the Maccers you can for example use NetNewsWire

This solution will not please everybody, that's for sure, because it requires the installation of a feedreader, but as a true geek, you should (already) have one anyway!

I, for one, must say that i love your new design! The older fullscreen version was a bit harder to navigate, and believe it or not, i think the images CAN be too dominating. Now theres a perfect balance; the text is easy to read at your front page, and the images easy to get to on the articlepage.

Nice work!

Does that mean you also have viewers of your lovely site that do NOT use any RSS reader for it?

I don't. As a matter of fact I don't look at the website either. The newsgroups is all I need (except for the tests & reviews of course).
