1080i video capture card (D3 though)

The Japanese company called EarthSoft is going to release an HD video capture card that uses D3 (the Japanese version of HDMI) and that will support formats between 480i/480p to 1080i. Watch out though with that last one, as this is not real HD and the resolution will be 1280x1080 instead of the Full HD's 1920x1080. You can send it Full HD video and the card will play it back after conversion. The minimum specs for a PC to use this card is an Athlon 64 X2 3800... and that's exactly what I have! Mine has 1Gb of RAM too, just to be on the safe side when doing all the HD video stuff... and erven then, in Sony Vegas (the software for video editing) it's quite slow sometimes. So when will we see the same card in Full HD and HDMI?

1080i is "real HD", just as 720p and 1080p are "real HD". Read up on your HD specs.

Well... We know that but read again the article ! Here we are talking about D3 ! In Japan they don't like to do things like the other SO, they have their own "HD" Stuff we call it D, D4, D3, D5... Which support HD but which not what we call HD, and the D3 in this VERY Case is 1280x1080 and NOT the 1080i has we know...

D4 or D-tanshi is a type of analog video connector found on Japanese consumer electronics, typically HDTV, DVD, Bluray, D-VHS and HD-DVD devices. In appearance it is a small flat trapezoid connector. It carries a Component video signal (Y Pr Pb). A device with a D4 connector can understand and display the following video signals:

* Japanese D1 video - 525i (480i).
* Japanese D2 video - 525p (480p).
* Japanese D3 video - 1125i (1080i/1035i).
* Japanese D4 video - 750p (720p).

Future D5 connectors will additionally support 1125p (1080p).
