Robo-One and the Winner is...

If you are interested in Robot you should be aware of the Korean Robot Championship the Robo-One… Based on the “Bite my shiny metal ass” concept, this championship is a battle to the death of 2 robots… And this year for the 2006 ROBO-ON the winner is ICRAUS build and tuned by Mr. CHUN.

The ROBO-ONE competitions originated in Japan and then expanded to Korea. The event you picture is one of the Korean Grand Prix competitions that are intended as demonstrations to promote the sport and are not the annual or semi-annual competitions. And, the battle in the ring is just a small part of the overall ROBO-ONE activity and events. They never 'fight to the death' since that idea is completely contrary to the spirit of the ROBO-ONE organization both here in Japan and in Korea.

Actually I really do like humor, and manage to find the humor in about 95% of the posts that you spin that way. But, from time to time, when I run across mis-information couched as 'humor' I decide to comment on it. That's all.

Good question.

It seems that most Westerners think that way, while most Japanese robot fans take exactly the opposite position. It might have something to do with the fact that the Japanese lead the world in robot development...

Sure. That doesn't mean that I thought it was funny.

Anyway, keep trying. There's more than enough good content and 'news' on your website that I keep coming back for more.
