AQUOS : Sharp to Introduce Three New P Series AQUOS LCD TVs

Newly Developed 22V and 26V-Inch Full-HD LCD Panels, an Industry First.

Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market three new models in the AQUOS P Series of LCD TVs including a 32V-inch model as well as two models featuring newly developed 22V- and 26V-inch full-HD LCD panels, an industry first.
As areas where terrestrial digital broadcasts can be received expand and HD media such as Blu-ray Discs become increasingly popular, the trend toward larger screen sizes in flat-panel TVs for the living room is accelerating. At the same time, demand for second TV sets to be used as personal TVs in bedrooms and private spaces is also rising. Also, there is growing demand for content that makes use of personal computers such as video games and Internet video distribution, and an increasing number of consumers are using TVs in a way much like PC monitors.

All models of this new AQUOS P Series feature a full-HD panel, including the 32V-inch model as well as the 22V-inch and 26V-inch models, the first in the industry to do so. These LCD panels deliver beautiful pictures with an unparalleled, high-definition display, enabling users to enjoy high-resolution, high-quality video images not only for TV applications, but also when used in the desktop environment in combination with a PC.

These models also feature a Picture-in-Picture function that allows a TV program to be displayed in a small inset window within the full PC image display, as well as a full suite of connecting jacks, in particular, a PC input jack, to support a wide range of devices including game machines and HD media equipment. And the stand is conveniently designed to allow a keyboard to be stowed underneath for additional ease of use.

Further, these models achieve a level of environmental performance that only AQUOS LCD TVs can deliver thanks to the adoption of environmentally friendly materials, a design to ensure long service life, and functions that reduce wasteful power consumption to conserve energy.
