ICR-PS1000M Diply Talk: The New High-End PCM Voice Recorder from Sanyo

Sanyo just dropped a new PCM voice recorder, the ICR-PS1000M Diply Talk. In a nutshell, this PCM recorder features a stereo microphone and stereophonic recording system, and records up to 50h of music / voice (depending on how good your batteries are). It also provides a fingerprint authentication sensor that locks your data for good if required, and is also used to navigate the different recorder menus.

Recordings are stored on miniSDHC cards. When using a 4GB card this will provide up to 5h40min if recorded in PCM, and 279h30min if Mp3 (32kbps).

A soprano sax musician was asked by Sanyo to perform a little test for us, and recording playback was absolutely stunning. We were also impressed that no sounds made by the surrounding cameramen and their shutters could be heard… Good job Sanyo!

On a side note, Sanyo also introduced two other PCM voice recorders: the ICR-PS185RM (2GB of internal memory) and ICR-PS182RM (1GB of Internal memory).

It looks like Sanyo dropped it from a cliff. What's with all the scratches?

The model was a test model and handled by others before these guys got to it. They look like scratches in the picture, but I think they were just fingerprints..
