For years Sanyo has been without a doubt the largest and strongest player in the Compact Digital Video Camera world, and crushed competitors generation after generation. Now after the Canon TX1, Sony is at the plate with its HDR-TG1, better know in Europe as the HDR-TG3.

A direct challenger to the Sanyo Xacti HD1000, the HDR-TG1 is also a full HD capable device (1080i), but a very expensive one. In Japan it's twice as expensive, is the TG1 really worth it?
Here it is, the iRiver E100 review. No need to hide it any longer, the E100 is an excellent product. Very well built and, at a price of 129€ for the 8GB version, it's as good as it gets.

Content:
Open the box of your brand new E100 and you'll find the usual suspects: player, a USB cable, audio headset, quick start guide, and installation CD. The USB cable can be used to recharge the player and also to transfer files from your computer to the E100 (pictures, ...

The second generation Sony Mylo is kind of a "User Friendly PDA" with which you can surf the internet (in a/b/g WiFi), send/receive e-mails, use Skype, listen to music, social network, take and view pictures, watch videos... That sort of thing.
Hands-on
The Mylo is really easy to handle and use. It's compact, the keyboard slides perfectly, materials feel pretty good too and in no time you'll type as fast as you're used to... I noticed a couple problems though: the...

With the HD1000, Sanyo finally takes the Xacti range to the next level! Even though the dimensions have increased, it remains a compact and very practical product. Now let's see if it's worth your money.
Hands on
Very close to what your "average" Xacti looks like, the HD1000 will simply require bigger pockets. The weight excess isn't a handicap as it provides additional stability. All in all it's very good even though we've now come pretty far from the discretion...

Just like the Xacti DMX-CG65, the new HD 700 is very compact; both appear very similar, and that's a great thing because Sanyo managed to put in HD with equal dimensions and weight.
One week with the Canon EOS 40D, there aren't many people who wouldn't like that! As we previously had the pleasure of reviewing the 1D Mark III, this "semi-pro" solution was pretty impressive, and features a lot of things seen on its "big brother". Replacing the 30D (that we still use on a regular basis for a lot of our articles), the 40D brings quite a bit of evolution to the table. A lot comes straight from the 1D Mark III, like a 3 inch screen, AutoFocus-On, Live-View, anti-dust system, an...

3 Weeks ago, Sega invited us to enjoy some of the coolest games at the Sega Joypolis in Odaiba, Tokyo. Among several nice games we could spend time playing with, was the latest arcade game version of Initial D, the ultimate manga for all Drift fans.
For several months, Japanese gamers have had the chance to play Initial D in one of the cars shown in the manga, especially the TOYOTA TRUENO, used by the young hero of this sequel.
Sanyo has been very active on the Super Small Camera market with its Xactis, its immediate success pushed Panasonic and the D-Snaps from the reigning champion, to the challenger's seat. Let's take a look at what this last version of the Xacti is capable of.
The first thing that comes to your mind when you hold the Xacti DMX-CG65 is "how could they put so much technology in such a tiny box?". This "toy" is as big as a pack of cigarettes (68 x 100 x 35 mm and 150g) but Sanyo managed to put ...

We all know that when it comes to video games, Japan stands above all, especially console gaming...in all the western societies you simply won't find anybody that has never spent at least 1 minute on a Japanese machine such as SEGA, NINTENDO, SONY, NEO-GEO or even NEC !

Add to this the fact that the Japanese love to collect things and in no time you'll find yourself (in Akihabara) in shops proposing games for consoles that went out of production 10+ years ago ! Between passion and b...

It was last year during the CEATEC that Panasonic gave us the possibility to see the 1st prototype of their compact camcorder with support of the new "AVCHD "video codec (developed by Sony and Panasonic) and SDHC cards only for the video (see pictures below).
Several months later Panasonic seems to finally have their baby ready, their first super small HD camera recorder 1080i compatible. It just arrived here so enjoy this little review of this amazing piece of technology!
