: YongSang, The Korean Akihabara !

If you ever think that Japan was the only Holy place for geeks, well you should strongly reconsider your point of view. In Korea there a less famous but equally wonderful place called YongSang. Today the Akihabara News Team was in Seoul and we will share some pictures we took with you.



YongSang is completely different from Akihabara, here 90% of the stores are not on the street but in different shopping malls along YongSang's main street.





In these big shopping malls each booth belongs to a shop and each floor is designated to a particular product or category. Let's imagine that you are looking for a camera, you will go directly to the camera floor where there you will not find 5 or 10 booths but literally hundreds and this for each products, be it computers, home appliances, ...




In complete opposition to Japan, digital cameras and D-SLR's seem to be the most wanted and desired product in Korea... you will actually find much more shops reselling cameras than DIY PC's. The second place seems to be for the mobile phone, and in third place we get the MP3 players and finally PC's and DivX players.
