I think the features of u4 and u3 seem to be similar. The deisgn of U4 is bettern than U3. U4 is affordable.

U4 is so called as Litmus on account of it's stylish colorful design(black/red/purple).
It's USB stick shape (yes, it can be a memory stick) and multi-format available.
The price range is now around US$65 (2GB).

The built-in USB plug allows U4 to be used as a removable storage device. U4 is a convenient player.
